Week 4 Survivor:
I left the remnants of the beginning of the season listed below, so I can wallow in my shame all year long as I managed to get eliminated in 2 pools in 2 weeks. I joined a "second chance pool" because the rest of the world sucked as bad as I did. It begins this week.
I'll keep it simple.
This week I mush...THE JETS!!! Let's go.
Week 2 Debacle:
I just have to leave this here all year. If you read it you will see I not only picked a loser, but all of my top 3 picks lost. In fact, the only win was the Chiefs who almost blew their game against the winless Bengals. Boo!
To Recap, we've used:
League 1 (double elimination) Bengals (L)
League 2: Seahawks
Our options:
Baltimore -8, hosting the Las Vegas Raiders. As of now, this is the largest point spread of the week, and the home team is favored. This will be where the bulk of your league mates will be laying their picks this week. It should be a fairly easy game for Baltimore as the Raiders couldn't stop JK Dobbins last week. One would imagine things won't be easier this week as they travel across three time zones to take on Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and company. It's a chalky pick, but it looks pretty safe to me.
Detroit -6.5 hosting Tampa Bay. The Lions look like a team on a mission, but they aren't without a few warts. They came close to blowing their game last week at home against their old buddy, Matthew Stafford. This week they get another rematch from last year's playoffs, and we're expecting the same result. The game wasn't a blowout, but the Lions were able to win by 8.
Dallas -6.5 hosting New Orleans. The Cowboys had their way with the Browns in Cleveland last week, and they look to keep it rolling against the Saints who breezed past the Panthers, scoring a whopping 47 points. This should be an easy win for Dallas, but we've been burned here before. I remember last season's game vs. The Cardinals too well to get sucked in here.
Kansas City -6 hosting the Bengals. The Chiefs aren't going to take Cincinnati lightly, even though they just dropped a game at home against the rebuilding Patriots. Kansas City remembers the "Burrowhead" nonsense all too well and they will be looking to stomp out any hope the Bengals may have of an upset victory by setting the tone early and keeping their feet on the gas. But still, there's the Burrow-head thing. Maybe Joe Burrow comes to life and shows that last week was just an anomaly, and that he indeed really does have some magic left when visiting Kansas City.
I won't go much further than that for this week. Other options would be San Fransisco laying 5.5 in Minnesota or Houston laying 5.5 at home against the Bears. Both teams will likely win, but I think the top 4 choices have a higher chance at a victory.
My Choices for this week:
Let's swallow some chalk,
We're going with the Ravens in both leagues!!!
AND WE LOST!!!!
